ABOUT US

Dan has a Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Sports Management with emphasis on Outdoor Recreation.  While in school, he held the position of Fundraising Chair on the board of directors for the Winyah Chapter of the Sierra Club.  He was awarded South Carolina Student Conservationist of the year in 2006 for his services.  He has been a guide, naturalist, and camp leader in the area for several different kayaking companies- Coastal Expeditions, Flipper Finders, Charleston Kayak Company, and Adventures in Florida.  He has learned a great deal from surfing, kayaking, fishing, and touring up and down the East Coast.

Kristi Cogswell

Kristi has a Bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communications and a Master's in Clinical Psychology.  She currently works for My Sister's House, Inc., a local domestic violence program which focuses on creating safety and empowerment for women and children affected by violence, and represents the agency in public education campaigns and trainings.  She was awarded Employee of the Year in 2010.  She is also an avid surfer and conservationist.

Lauren Cole

Lauren has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and more specifically worked with underprivileged and at risk youth through foster care.  She also works as a therapist for children with autism.  During her undergrad studies, she worked for a river rafting company where she learned how beneficial water activity and nature can be.

Jason Smith

Jason is an ACA Level III paddleboard instructor and was one of the pioneers of stand up paddle boarding/ SUP surfing in Charleston.  He has a degree in Forestry. He is also an avid kayaker and surfer.

Christopher Durand

Chris been on the scene in Charleston for 20+ years as a lighting and event expert.  He has worked with nearly every artist at almost every venue in the area.  He has a degree from Colorado State.  He is also a father of 2 and an avid surfer, kayaker, and snowboarder.
